User guide/The Hub

The Hub
Hub is the firm shelf. Everything in it belongs to the firm rather than to one job — the curated file library, what you learned last time, who you work with, the checklists you run, and the branding on every PDF LODE generates.
Scope
What lives in the Hub
The Hub is deliberately not a second place to keep project documents. Sheets, specs, submittals and backup live in their project and stay there. The Hub holds the things that outlive a job: the standard detail you reuse, the lesson from the last school, the consultant you always call, the checklist you always run.
It is a module switcher. The tabs across the top are Firm files (formerly Files), Lessons learned, Contacts, Schedule, QA/QC and Firm. Every member of the organization can open it.
Firm files
Firm files — the firm shelf
Folders you create, nested as deep as you like. A file can sit in more than one folder at once — filing a detail under both Roofing and K-12 does not make a second copy, and removing it from one folder leaves it in the other.
Storage
Memory
Lessons learned & contacts
Lessons learned is institutional memory with one required field: what happened. The author is captured automatically and shown, because the point of a lesson is knowing who to ask about it. Attach a file or point at a drawing package when it helps.
Contacts is the firm’s address book, and it is the one every project draws on — contract parties, project contacts and call-log entries all point back at it, so a phone number corrected here is corrected everywhere. Companies sits underneath it: the firms those people work for, with the services each provides.
Across projects
QA/QC and the firm schedule
QA/QC is one continuous list of the checks the firm runs, grouped by phase and category. A template is a named filter over that list, not a container — duplicating a template copies its memberships, and deleting one removes the tag and nothing else.
Schedule is read-only and firm-wide: every schedule item across every project you can see, as a two-week lookahead (overdue first, then the next fourteen days) or as a month calendar. Each row links through to that item in its own project’s Planning tab, which is where it can be changed.
Firm
Firm — branding & stamps
Firm holds two things that every generated document inherits. The document logo heads every PDF LODE produces for the firm — reports, record copies, observation reports — and it is firm-wide, not per project. On Solo those documents also carry a small “Made with LODE” footer line; Field and above carry none.
Stamps is the firm’s review artwork. Each uploaded stamp can declare which canonical outcome it means, so a submittal stamped with the firm’s own graphic still records a reviewable decision underneath the firm’s own words.
